The "Mane"tenance schedule for hair extensions...including how long the hair generally lasts.

Updated: Jul 7, 2022

💫The best thing about hair extensions besides all the amazing volume and length is that they are reusable. As long as you take care of them they should last anywhere Feom 6 months to over a year depending on type.

Which leads us to the maintenance schedule. They need to be maintained to keep them smooth, non twisted and seamlessly blending with your own hair. Once they get too long they have a tendency to swing and are almost impossible to hide.

🕐Tape In hair: 6-8 weeks, hair has a lifespan for about 6-ish months or 3 move ups. Time wise=the first install takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. It takes about 1-2 hours for maintenance every 6-8 weeks.

🕑K-tip hair: 3-6 months, are not reusable. The first install can take about 45 minute to 1.5 hours for a partial and full install can take about 3-6 hours.

🕒I-tip hair: 4-6 weeks, lifespan for about a year. The first install can take about 45 minute to 1.5 hours for a partial and full install can take about 1.5-3 hours.

🕓Weft hair: 4-6 weeks, hair has a lifespan of about a year. The first install can take about 45 minute to 1.5 hours for 1 row and multiple rows l can take about 3 hours.

Skinny Weft™ method: every 4 weeks for about 30-45 minutes, hair life span is about a year as well. The first install can take about 45 minute to 1.5 hours for a row and full head can take about 3 hours.

The hair lifespan all depends on how you treat your hair. Do you roughly brush? Use hot tools over 340 degrees? Wash with drying hair products? Do you oil it up with proper oil daily?

I hope this clarifies how to "mane"tain your hair.
